Bulgaria's fame as a tourist destination is about to surpass Europe. The Bulgarian-Indian Tourist Forum is another proof of that – the business gathering presented Bulgaria's potential for tourism and leisure. Many possibilities were listed, such as cultural, historical, spa and wellness tourism, and programmes for combined travel in the Balkans. The exchange was two-fold: besides representatives of ten of the largest companies that organise tours for Indian citizens abroad, tour operators from India also responded to the invitation of organising Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Tourist Agencies, working out a strategy to offer journeys to the Bulgarian public and strengthening the two-way cooperation in the area.
