UV radiation is part of sunlight and represents 10% of electromagnetic solar radiation. According to the wavelength, UV radiation is divided into three groups – UV-A, UV-B and UV-C.
UV-A radiation has a relatively long wavelength and 95% of it reaches the Еarth surface. It is the radiation that causes sun tanning. Prolonged exposure to UV-A rays can cause long-term damage such as skin cancer.
UV-B rays have a medium wavelength and most of them are filtered by the atmosphere. They cannot penetrate deep into the skin, but are biologically very active, causing severe burns, which in addition to aging the skin increase the risk of skin cancer.
UV-C rays have the shortest wavelength, completely filtered by the atmosphere. This radiation is the most dangerous for organisms. Even short-term exposure to it can cause irreversible changes. It destroys the cell structure of the microorganisms. Viruses, bacteria and fungi are not resistant to this type of radiation. If the radiation intensity is high enough, UV-C disinfection is a reliable and environmentally friendly method, as the addition of chemicals is not necessary.

This indicates that LO20 may be a leading tool in disinfecting enclosed spaces.
