What are corticobasal implants?
Corticobasal implants for immediate functional loading are the most advanced implants for replacement of lost natural teeth. They use the deep and well mineralised part of the jaw bone, known as basal or cortical bone, for better hold of the implants. This allows us to avoid the need of additional procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lifting. A basal implant consists of a titanium part with a smooth surface that significantly reduces the risks of developing peri-implantitis (infection around the implant).
What corticobasal implants do you use at Dr Hazem Dental Clinic?
We use the corticobasal implants of Biomed®, a Swiss company. They allow immediate functional loading in an improved implantology system. Their smooth surface eliminates more than 90% of the risk for development of peri-implantitis or infection. Each implant has an individual number, a certificate for authenticity and a 10-year warranty, and is ISO certified.
Why do you prefer to use metal-ceramic crowns for these implants?
Metal-ceramic crowns are the best solution for achieving immediate functional loading with corticobasal implants. They are made of bio-compatible alloy with guaranteed origin and are covered with high-quality ceramics, which is the strongest material for dental crowns. They are way better than plastic or zirconium crowns.
Do we need to visit Dr Hazem Dental Clinic to get an offer for treatment with corticobasal implants?
We can prepare a personalised offer for you without you visiting the clinic at all. To do this, we only need a panoramic X-ray of your mouth and a photograph of your bite, which you can send us via e-mail. Of course, the X-ray and the photograph can be done as well here, at the clinic.
We will prepare an offer using this information. This is the best way for you to achieve the smile of your dreams in a single trip to Sofia.
How do you manage to finish treatment in such a short time?
At Dr Hazem Dental Clinic the full recovery of a jaw takes 3 days, of both jaws is a week, and the implantation of permanent metalo-ceramic crowns takes 72 hours.
The procedure of full jaw recovery starts with the extraction of teeth that need to be replaced, the placement of the corticobasal implants, the plastic of the gum and the bone and, finally, taking of tooth imprints. On the second day, we do the metal try in. On the third day, we test and adapt the crowns and finally fix the permanent structure.
The placement of the corticobasal implants is a short procedure performed under local anaesthesia. There is a feeling of slight discomfort for a couple of hours afterwards, but it goes away quickly.
It is important to know that this method is very economical compared to other systems, not only in terms of cost, wich is half the cost of any other treatment, but in terms of saving time and shortening the number of patient visits to receive treatement, which costs patients valuable time.
