Deep in the heart of the Rhodope, this is an ensemble of rock formations resembling natural bridges over a tiny river, thought to have been created millions of years ago when an earthquake destroyed a cave.

The bigger bridge is about 100 metres long and 12-15 metres wide. Nearby is the Icy Cave, whose temperature remains sub-zero even on the hottest days of summer. There is also the Big Cave, where pottery shards dating back to the 6th Century BC have been discovered. The whole area, enshrouded in pine forest, is almost untouched by human hand, despite recent attempts to “renovate”.
