In honor of the day of the holy brother Cyril and Methodius, Acronis is donating 100+ books to Professional High School of Economics and Management, with the kind support of Ciela bookstore
Every year, Acronis, through its philanthropic arm, the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, donates 100 books to a different Bulgarian school in recognition of the day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, which lands on May 22. This year, the donation of 100+ books will be received by the Professional High School of Economics and Management in Pazardzhik, a city situated along the banks of the Maritsa River in southern Bulgaria.
In its fourth annual donation initiative, Acronis will contribute 100 books along with 35 monitors and 20 laptops to the Professional High School of Economics and Management. This donation aims to enhance the learning environment and provide valuable resources for both students and faculty. Aligning with the company’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives, Acronis has created a tradition that will follow for years to come.
Plamen Toshev, Managing Director of Acronis Bulgaria, expressed enthusiasm for the ongoing support, stating, "Proper education prepares kids for both the trials and joys that life has to offer, and books are the main starting point for that education. These books equip our children with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate life and better understand the world. Even in an evolving digital landscape, reading books is a critical part of children’s development, helping them understand and learn about the world around them. I’m excited to see Acronis continue this tradition as we help shape the world into a better future for our children."
The Professional High School of Economics and Management in Pazardzhik is set to receive this generous donation, which will further enrich its educational resources and support its mission of nurturing future leaders in economics and management. Founded on September 1, 1950, the institution has been a cornerstone in providing qualified economic specialists for the regional economy. With over 800 students and more than 55 teachers across various disciplines, the school ensures a high standard of education.
“We are pleased with the fact that Professional High School of Economics and Management Pazardzhik and in particular, Mrs. Rumyana Angelova, is preferred over all candidates for the top position in the prestigious ranking. BAIT's strategy validates the quality of the achieved results. We assure you that Professional High School of Economics and Management is a school that has proven its leading position in the present and confidently in the future will strive to cover the entire spectrum of Bulgarian education. We express our gratitude to the software company Acronis, a leader in cybersecurity, which with its investments and innovations manages to achieve high results and has a significant contribution to the local IT environment. One of our brightest, uplifting national spirit holidays is approaching - May 24 - the Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture, which gives us a reason to congratulate BAIT and Acronis, to thank them for the high appreciation, and to give colleagues the opportunity to be rewarded with their preferred book and the gifted equipment. With faith, we look forward to tomorrow, and with hope, the cooperation between the two institutions will continue! Happy holiday of spirituality!”, said Tanya Blagova, principal of High School of Economics and Management Pazardzhik.
Acronis acknowledges the importance of education as a catalyst for positive change and recognizes the pivotal role it plays in shaping the future. The Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, a corporate social responsibility project driven by Acronis employees and partners, works with a vast network of non-profit organizations and government institutions to implement philanthropic initiatives such as building schools and computer classrooms in remote communities around the world. The program also conducts IT skills programs for people with migration backgrounds, ex-offenders, and youth members, as well as organizes cyber safety workshops for children. By providing essential resources to educational institutions, like the Professional High School of Economics and Management, the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program aims to empower students and contribute to a more knowledgeable and prosperous society.
This initiative is made possible through collaboration with Ciela, a renowned Bulgarian bookstore chain committed to promoting cultural diversity and providing access to a wide range of educational materials.
“For the past two years, our team at "Ciela" bookstores has been supporting the initiative of Acronis and Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT) for book donations because it contributes to the development of education and culture among young people. Donating books will help diversify the school's book collection, providing students with greater access to various genres and topics. Initiatives like this reaffirm the importance of partnerships between the business sector and educational institutions for the public good,” said Svetla Andonova, Commercial Director, Ciela.
The Acronis Cyber Foundation Program is focused on partnering with other organizations to make a difference together. Acronis invites all businesses, large or small, to engage in joint projects. To join our mission or to learn more, please visit www.acronis.org.
