What are the benefits of this type of construction for the environment?
An important aspect of natural materials is reducing the carbon footprint. Conventional construction processes use a lot of energy for production; they pollute and emit a lot of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. Eco construction focuses on more sustainable materials such as straw, wood, bamboo, reed, clay, hemp, sheep wool, cork, lime and many more with significantly smaller, and even negative carbon footprint. At the end of their life cycle they can be recycled and reused. Currently, many European countries are making steps towards tax incentives and lower mortgage rates for environmentally friendly construction and renovation. Such policies additionally help consumers to choose such construction materials and methods.
