Vesela Bogdanova, General Manager, on why Bulgaria's latest high-end SPA hotel should be on your "to go" list

When you crave an exquisite experience that combines the healing properties of hot mineral water, the fresh air of Bulgarian mountains and the comfort of a place designed to meet all requirements for modern luxury living, The Five Elements Hotel is the place where to book a room or an apartment.

The new luxury hotel is at one of the best spots in Bulgaria for recreational tourism, Sapareva Banya, where Europe's hottest mineral spring is located. The Five Elements Hotel has not spared efforts to create the ultimate SPA experience. The hotel has 4 large open-air mineral swimming pools, several open-air hot water tubs and Jacuzzis and 3 kids' swimming pools, combined with a state-of-art SPA area dedicated to healing and revitalising the body and the soul. And this is just the beginning of the experience! We talked to Vesela Bogdanova, General Manager of The Five Elements Hotel, to learn more.

What is the philosophy of The Five Elements Hotel?

The philosophy of The Five Elements Hotel is to create harmony between our guests' health and the surrounding nature. We are happy to be located at a marvellous place. The Rila abounds with recreational opportunities all year round, and the local mineral spring is the hottest in continental Europe.

Our philosophy is reflected in our name – it is the harmony of the five elements, water, air, fire, earth and space to bring balance to our guests' health and mood.

Protecting the environment is also a part of our philosophy. We are actively involved in providing sustainable development and care for nature. We have included regional cuisine, culture and historical heritage in our tourist product. Since Roman times, the region has been known for its healing waters. Our guests can learn a lot about the history of Sapareva Banya and the region.

For whom is the experience offered by The Five Elements Hotel?

Each of our guests can have an exciting experience during their stay at The Five Elements Hotel. The region offers a rich variety of options for recreation, sport and outdoor adventures, and the hotel is designed to offer comfort for guests of all ages and tastes.

Our spacious SPA area has saunas and steam baths with different temperatures and aromas, kids' swimming pools, salty hot water tubs, adventure showers. We aim to turn mineral water into a source of both treatment and fun.

For children we have provided a kids' corner, billiard, board games and, of course, high-speed Internet connection in each room.

Our lobby area has been designed with care to our guests' comfort and allows both quiet secluded meetings and gatherings of large groups of friends. On Friday and Saturday evenings we organise music shows. Jazz is in the focus but our guest musicians also perform pop songs. For guests who would rather relax with a good book there is a small library.

The emotions and the experience that tourists have are always the result of their expectation to relax and have fun. We strive to provide them with both.

Why should we choose The Five Elements Hotel for our vacation?

Because this is Bulgaria's newest high-end SPA hotel and you should be curious to see it. On a more serious note, our hotel has impressive shared spaces, a large SPA area and the largest outdoor mineral swimming pools that are open the year round. You simply cannot describe the feel of relaxing in hot water in the open air, while the temperatures are subzero and it is snowing. The rooms are cosy, with marvellous vistas to the Rila and Verila mountains and equally comfortable to solo travellers and families with kids. We offer therapies for the face and the body with natural essential oils that leave you feeling toned and well. Near the hotel you will find places that will cater to your individual interests: sport and trekking options, places for a picnic, a museum, churches and chapels, restaurants.

What does The Five Elements Hotel give us in each of the seasons?

Winter is best for fans of winter sports as we are just 40 minutes away from the ski runs at Borovets winter resort and 20 minutes away from those in Panichishte. Even if you do not fancy outdoor sport activities, you can enjoy the vista of the beautiful, snow-covered mountain peaks from your comfortable chair by the fireplace at Akash lobby bar.

In spring, the green colours of nature around us creates a lovely feeling of freshness and reviving life. By the hotel there is a panoramic forest path with wonderful vistas to Sapareva Banya and the Verila.

In summer, you can just sunbathe by our outdoor swimming pools, or we can take you on a trek along some of the Rila's lesser known paths that will charm you with their tranquility and beauty.

In the autumn, the SPA area and the hot mineral water are the best way to adjust your body and soul from the memory of the long summer days to the reality of darker and colder weather. This is the season when we also host seminars and corporate events that combine SPA experience and clean air.
