How do revolutions happen? Stanislava Pavlova, owner and manager of SHIMANI Smart Skincare, knows the answer
After 16 years of experience in pharmaceutics and cosmetics and many trips to Asia and Africa where she learned a lot about local cosmetic products and ingredients, Stanislava Pavlova realised that she... has forgotten to take care of her own skin. To fight off dull and tired skin, she made a radical decision. She left her corporate career and together with a team of Bulgarian scientists, who have also developed products for NASA, she created SHIMANI Smart, a highly effective skincare solution free of harmful ingredients.
An interesting name – SHIMANI. Where does it come from?
To find out a good brand name is not easy. One evening I remembered this incredibly beautiful woman I had met in Sri Lanka. Her name was Shimani. Afterwards I learnt that the word means "sparkling diamonds."
What are your products and whom are they for?
We developed two series of products. The first is SHIMANI SMART, an innovative anti-age cosmetics, the first on the international market that contains iron. Our patented Chelate Repair Complex penetrates between skin collagen fibres, preventing them from sticking together, thus preventing wrinkles formation. SHIMANI products do not contain parabens, silicones, allergens, petroleum derivatives, GMO, artificial colourings. Two of our creams are violet thanks to the combination of ingredients.
Cream of Life: 100% natural products
Our second series is Cream Of Life: 100% natural products of natural oils and beeswax only. They are extremely good for people with dry, normal or sensitive skin, for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Tell us more about the innovation award that SHIMANI has won.
In October 2020 our company won first place in The Most Successful Innovative Company category awarded by the Innovation Council of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is a huge recognition because we put a lot of effort in our products development. Our greatest award, however, is when a happy client contacts us to share that our products have helped them. This truly motivates us and inspires us to continue! Our goal is to establish SHIMANI on the international market as well.
The cosmetics market is rather saturated. How will you deal with the huge competition?
Our advantage is that as a small brand SHIMANI is much more flexible than large companies. Our products are designed for the current trends and customers' needs. People nowadays want to see who stays behind a certain brand, they would rather trust a person than a product. I believe in the success of SHIMANI products and I think that our clients will recognise their quality!
