In search of the light of happiness and taste for life

Light. This what luxury means when we go back to the Latin origins of the word and in this case it is amazing how well the original meaning of the word mirrors the deepest meaning of what today we understand by luxury. Because, contrary to the initial associations, luxury is not something that obligatorily goes with spending of crazy amounts of money.

True luxury is something completely different. It makes us feel better and more complete personalities, appeased and ready to discover the world and our place in it. Luxury helps us to escape our problems, for a short or long period of time. It brings us happiness. It brings us light.
Luxury can be found in places, things, experiences. It is something that sometimes you can buy or receive as a gift, but is often something that requires only your time, attention and readiness. Because not everything that is precious can be measured with money and bought with it.

Luxury is a state of being. It come rarely and asks from you to completely immerse in it. It is in the opportunity to afford yourself to leave your busy everyday life. To relax. To forget to check your work emails and your Facebook each 15 minutes, and to calm down, thinking only about yourself. To give you time to cherish the beauty of the sunrise and the songs of the birds, to be tranquil.

A state of complete disengagement from the everyday like this is possible in many ways. Vacation in a luxury retreat far from home is the easiest of them. You will find quickly that in this case luxury is a lot more than a hotel with spacious rooms, tastefully furnished. The achievement of total feel for a luxurious holiday is possible only for places that don't spare resources and efforts in the mission to give only the best to their guests. In places where each detail is designed to perfection: from the furniture and the room's amenities to the overall architecture and the professional and discreet service to the dishes in the restaurant. In the truly luxury hotel, quality and tranquility go hand in hand and make you think about your life outside as if it were a fiction or something that belongs to someone else.

In Bulgaria, these oases of luxury exist in the cities and outside them, on the Black Sea coast and the mountains, and each of them has something one-of-a-kind, that is typical only for it. And this is one of the other characteristics of true luxury: uniqueness.

The luxury vacation doesn't mean that you need to stay at one place. On the contrary. Luxury is to afford yourself to literally leave behind your back everything and to hit the road. Or the sea. With a yacht. Once you are onboard of a luxury yacht, the world changes and gets new colours, tastes and dimensions. Time starts moving in a different manner and gradually you lose the count of the days, which you have spent diving and swimming in Bulgarian, Greek, Italian, Croatian and other waters, and the nights spent in your cosy wood cabin. Vacation on a yacht brings you one of the biggest luxuries there can be: the freedom to be here on one day and there on the next one. The sea is yours and the world is yours, you glide through them, enjoying the sort of happiness that is so difficult to be discovered when we are stuck in our everyday routine.

But luxury is not something that can be experienced only on a vacation. On the contrary. If we know where to look for it, it can follow us on every step, offering moments of pleasure in our busy day, little oases where to search for ourselves, and to discover ourselves.

Luxury can be a part of us. Literally. It is enough to present yourself with the pleasure of wearing an elegant piece of jewellery with original design and from noble metals and precious and semiprecious stones, an emanation of the truth that life is beautiful and you are in your right to enjoy it.

Luxury is in the designer's perfume that follows you all the day, whispering its secrets stories or bringing you confidence. Luxury is in the stylish wristwatch that, measuring the time, says how responsible you need to be with each minute, wasting not a single one of them. Luxury is in the tender leather of a handbag created by a dedicated designer; in the elegant silhouette of a pair of shoes that make you feel divine; in the gentle touch of clothes from natural fabrics; in the delicate aroma of cosmetics that not only promises youth, vitality and good looks, but actually delivers. Luxury is in the new painting or the designer's lampshade, sofa, carpet in your home, but also in the quiet, almost meditative, search for something interesting and with a story of its own among the artistic chaos of an antiquity shop. Luxury is in the pleasure of immersing yourself in the photographs or the reproductions of a favourite painter on the glossy pages of an album. Luxury can be in a cup of tea, brought from some exotic destination you have visited recently, and drunk in the company of a true friend or in a blissful lonelinessLuxury has many faces, shapes and manifestations. You will smell it in the aromas that the skilled hands of a specialist in exotic massages rubs into your body. You will feel it on your palate while trying a new wine on a specialised tasting event, or while sipping your favourite drink in the cosiness of your home or in the elegant atmosphere of a bar where the time looks as if it has stopped and the only thing that matters is your comfort.

Luxury is to go to a restaurant where the quality of the dishes doesn't change with the passing years, the novelties are carefully thought over, tastes are combined to perfection, the service is friendly without being too friendly, and the music is selected to make you enjoy life.

So, someone might say, luxury is everywhere, then. Indeed, it is – when we have the eyes to see it and recognise it, we understand that luxury is first and foremost an inner state, and only then – an outward manifestation. Because the one who thinks that luxury equals money, he doesn't truly live but is a slave to prejudice and misconception. True luxury is life's gift to people who love life itself, who are not afraid to explore its tastes and experiences and to bring them meaning, to make sense of them. It is a gift to the ones who live in light.

The question of what women want and the inability to answer it conclusively are as old as the world. Or at least this is what popular culture has been trying to convince us. The truth is that women have always known what they wanted.

The Christmas and New Year's holidays are the time when we are free to concentrate on fulfilling our wishes and on everything that brings us pleasure.

The summer is coming, and with it our excitement increases. Our souls crave the caress of the sun rays and the sea, the light clothes and the journey that we can finally take on. But are our body, face, skin and hair ready as well?
It is often said that a woman’s soul is а complex mystery, difficult to solve, and the moods and de- sires of ladies are changeable, vague, and sometimes deprived of logic. It is true that women are differ- ent and everyone has her own individual longings.
To give or to receive presents? Some people prefer the former, others – the latter, yet others love to do both. What unites them all is that regardless of the occasion, the tradition fills the hearts of everyone involved with joy, happiness and warmth.
Gifts are one of the best ways to say "I love you" to the people we cherish. And the best time to do it, outside of special events in life, are the Christmas and New Year's feasts.
Summer is a special season. It is the only part of the year of which we think about long before it has arrived.
No matter if the winter in question has been mild. The very thought about the coming summer inevitably begins to excite us long before the season's actual beginning. The warmth! The vacation! The planning! The long days and the short nights!
Historians say that gifts are a pillar of human civilisation.
The Christmas and New Year's celebrations in 2020 will be as never before. Unlike other years, this December we will forget about the ease with which we planned trips, meetings with friends, parties and family gatherings. But this should not discourage us.
What do we, women, need to be happy?
They say you cannot buy happiness with money. It is true, in principle... until the moment when we see the shining eyes of our beloved one when they open the carefully packaged gift for a birthday, holiday or St Valentine.
