SORRY SEEMS TO BE THE **** WORD

Mon, 06/02/2014 - 12:44

Following the elections results showing that GERB and Bulgaria Without Censorship made significant gains in the 25 May European Parliament election, their leaders Boyko Borisov and Nikolay Barekov, former friends and now bitter foes, went into what can at best be termed a rampage of accusations, counteraccusations, insinuations, slurs and insults concerning themselves and everyone else. Here are some samples.

BORISOV: "Barekov threw such heavy insults at my person that there can be no talk of cooperation with him unless he apologises to me. I am suing him on 15-16 counts. It would make a difference if he said I am sorry."

BAREKOV: "Mr Borisov is a primitive man. I would say he is a political primitive. He puts his ego and his emotions above what is important for the state. He has taken it into his head quite strongly. I follow his actions closely. He has been overexcited... I recommend to Mr Borisov to stop overexciting himself."

BORISOV: "I have no complexes. The only complexes I have concern the left wing because I have beaten you 11 times in a row."

BAREKOV: "Make an apology to Borisov? Our personal relationship ended a year and a half ago. The things he aches over are the subject of court cases."

BORISOV: "Can you imagine how brash it is for Mikov (the spokesman of the Bulgarian parliament) to give me the floor... that defeated man! And he took my coffemaker!"

BAREKOV: "I will not apologise to the heavy metal fans that booed me."

WHAT WE HAVE AS A TOPIC...
Tsv. Tsv., as he is sometimes popularly referred to, is the head of the Euro-Atlantic Centre for Security, a thinktank set up by himself when he was forced to resign from GERB, in 2019. Tsvetanov and "thinktank" in the same sentence?
