Every change begins with the question "Where am I today and where do I want to go?"
For Aneliya Manolova, this is where true transformation begins. After over 20 years in Germany and 10 years in international companies, she turned towards what interests her most: how people make decisions, develop their potential and build healthier, clearer and more sustainable ways of working. Today, she is an ICF-certified coach (ACC) with international experience and a specialisation in systemic coaching. She works with professionals, leaders and teams in Bulgarian, German and English. Together with Diana Racheva and Vasia Vankova, she founded Courageous Coaches, a platform that makes high-quality coaching more accessible for individuals and organisations.
What can and cannot we expect from a coach, therapist and mentor?
Coaching is future-focused, while therapy is past-focused. In coaching, the focus is on goals and next steps, with one exception: we return to the past to use it as a resource. Therapy explores root causes. Coaching does not treat trauma, but creates space for awareness and change. A mentor has particular experience and shares it. A coach does not provide solutions, but helps you arrive at your own answers and take responsibility.
All three roles have their value. The question is which one is most appropriate at a given moment.
What can a team or a professional achieve with the help of your coaching?
When we set clear goals, the results become visible for the professional, the team and the organisation.
I worked with a leader who was under pressure. At first glance, the topic was communication, but he realised that what truly mattered to him was his influence within and outside the organisation. From that moment on, not only his communication changed, but also the tone with which he showed up.
My clients gain awareness, confidence, healthy boundaries and effectiveness without feeling like they are constantly on the edge. People often appear successful on the surface, yet feel overwhelmed or stuck. I help them organise their priorities, reconnect with their values and act in alignment with them.
At team and organisational level, I support leadership, collaboration, trust and accountability. The difficulty is rarely a lack of competence, but uncertainty, unclear roles and challenging conversations. When everyone feels heard and seen, we make conscious collective decisions and work with motivation.
Why did you cofound the first coaching platform in Bulgaria?
My partners and I share a common vision of what high-quality and ethical coaching is.
In Bulgaria, coaching is often used as a synonym for mentoring, training or therapy. Our goal is to present coaching as a professional practice.
Today, we are expanding our team of coaches and building a community where we support one another, learn and grow together.
Abroad, working with coaching platforms is a preferred model, offering flexibility, the ability to choose the right coach and measurable results.
