Prestigious awards, exciting projects and academical path
Nothing is ordinary in the history and present of Proektta Studio, the passion project of architects Tanya Mitakeva and Andrey Arnaudov. They created the studio in 2018 after a long, on-again, off-again professional relationship and have never ceased to break new ground since then. Their projects stand out with their elegance, clear lines and feel for the space, an example of how to understand the task and to create impeccable solutions.
It is hardly a surprise, then, that 2022 was a year of amazing events and success for Proektta Studio – it won prestigious awards, worked on some great projects in Bulgaria and abroad, and entered the field of academia.
AWARDS
The professional community in Bulgaria was truly impressed by Proektta Studio's design for a boutique hotel in Sunny Beach Resort.
Amara Sugar Hotel is the last building constructed in a larger, older compound and had to fulfil the crucial requirement to blend with it while also creating a visual and functional accent.
Amara Sugar Hotel deservedly won two major prizes: the Archinova Award in the category Hotels, Vacation Villages, Leisure and Spa Complexes, and a special award by the international jury of the Bulgarian Architecture Awards, organized by the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria. Here is how the jury justified its decision: "A project that brings simple volumes with clear and elegant composition, using restraint material palette for maximum visual impact. Warm interior design of the rooms combined with projecting balconies to create an exciting fusion of outdoor and indoor experiences."
PROJECTS
Meanwhile, the team of Proektta Studio finished few residential interiors, a restaurant renovation and a house in the USA. It is currently busy with designing or awaiting approval for several houses close to Sofia, and developing a conceptual design for a large high-rise residential building.
ACADEMIA
In 2022, Proektta Studio also entered the field of Bulgarian academia, when architect Tanya Mitakeva started teaching Theory and Practice of Architecture at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, passing her knowledge and experience to the next generation.
