On 15 December was held the official opening of one of the largest and most modern rehabilitation and long-term care hospitals in Europe, owned by Blocks Group - a leading operator in rehabilitation and care for the elderly in Bulgaria and the region. The event was attended by the Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova + other names of the official guests, as well as representatives of various sectors of business, education, and medicine. The official ceremony of consecration of the hospital was led by His Eminence Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchik, Vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia.

"The opening of the rehabilitation hospital is one of the biggest achievements of Blocks Group. I believe that this is an important step forward in the development of the health and social sector and our main mission - to help people", said the CEO of Blocks Group Mr. Ilian Grigorov in his speech to all the attendees during the official event.

The Blocks Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital is located in the foothills of Vitosha Mountain. It occupies an area of 14 000 sq.m. and has an inpatient ward including 100 beds distributed in 54 single and double rooms, an outpatient center with 17 offices, 6 rehabilitation lounges and hydrotherapy rooms. Both adults and children will be treated at the facility.

The hospital meets all modern world standards in the field of rehabilitation, covering both comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation and early rehabilitation of inpatients after active treatment.

For the first time in Bulgaria, technologies such as anti-gravity treadmills, a hydrotherapy pool and a water treadmill will be offered, as well as high-tech robotic equipment for immobilisation. The building was designed by HKS Architects, the leading architectural studio for treatment facilities.
