With over 560 schools in more than 37 countries around the world, Maple Bear Global Schools is a global educational chain of Canadian bilingual nurseries, kindergartens and schools that provides top quality education
Director and psychologist Suzana Stepanova tells more.
Why is early education important for Maple Bear Global Schools?
The first 7 years are an outstanding period in children's life that should be used effectively so that they are able to unleash their unique potential and talents in a way that helps them to build strong foundations for their education, environment and culture.

We approach our students with lots of love and we believe that they deserve more than the best. Children need education of the best quality, and also care, respect, games, acceptance and love to grow with trust and strive for development.

What educational principles do you apply?
Our curriculum is crafted to achieve children's wholesome development – intellectual, social, linguistic, emotional and physical. The bilingual education in English and Bulgarian helps children's language development and processes such as thinking, memory, attention and concentration.

What is the latest innovation in your curriculum?
We, at Maple Bear, combine the connection between multicultural harmony and understanding and the UN's work in our latest innovation – the Global Connections for Sustainability Programme (GCP). How can we nurture intercultural relations and increase the awareness while researching the biggest problems that our planet's resources face today? With GCP, we aim to connect students from all over the world and to facilitate the survey, discussion and cooperation focused around the 17 goals of the UN for sustainable development on a language that children understand.

We have a digital platform that includes the latest approaches for effective and age appropriate online education. GCP strives to help Maple Bear students to travel around the world without leaving their classroom. As citizens of the world, we all need to take responsibility and to deal with the challenges that our planet faces. As teachers, we need to keep our students informed on the importance of the environment and how our actions affect it, uniting the potential that we, as aware people who work towards a shared goal, possess.

This is why Maple Bear's faculty created this unique programme that teaches the UN's 17 goals through a wholesome curriculum for sustainable development. Our goal is for students to cooperate in order to understand the climate, culture, education, peace and living conditions in other countries, and the habitats of plants and animals. Through developing these understandings the students create intercultural friendships and together dedicate themselves to building a better world. Their passion in doing this will really change our reality.

The programme's goals will help children understand that all people are connected by the Earth, nature, climate, peace, and education. Our work on this project will develop in children global and creative thinking and a broad outlook. We are happy to share that the programme in our kindergarten already started and that the children are really inspired!
