Established in 2012 by Diana Tzonevska-Nedkova, international business graduate from the Regent's University London, and construction engineer Tsvetan Nedkov, DECIBEL is the only Bulgarian company that manufactures materials and comprehensive sound-proofing and acoustic solutions. Today, as a family, Diana and Tsvetan run a business that is present in 54 countries, has developed its own product without a parallel in Europe – MUTE SYSTEM, and is one of the largest manufacturers in the sector on the continent.

How has DECIBEL won over such a diverse international audience?

Our products are targeted to three client groups – home users, office and commercial spaces, and industrial facilities. For home users we have innovative, thin and easy to install products that reduce annoying noises. To commercial and office sites we give solutions that provide confidentiality, clear speech, and quiet work spaces. To the industrial sector we offer booths, silencers and blinds that reduce industrial noises.

Which are the main consumers of sound-proofing and acoustic solutions?

Residents of blocks of flats, creators of video and podcast content, professional musicians, owners of a home office or home cinema, companies with open space offices, call centres, data centres and production organisations.

What is the process of product development at DECIBEL?

We are led by the market and our striving for innovations. Recently, innovation has become the first step in the process, then we verify with the market whether what we have invented, implemented and manufactured actually works and is well accepted.

How do Bulgarian and international audiences receive DECIBEL products?

Our clients in Bulgaria know us and trust us easily, while abroad we are still building our brand. Generally, Bulgarian clients have increased their expectations and requirements, while European ones are becoming more open to made in Bulgaria sound-proofing and acoustic solutions.

Which are consumers' most common misconceptions about sound-proofing and acoustics?

The first is that sound-proofing and acoustics are only for studios, cinemas and television. Another is the lingering belief that thermal insulation of styrofoam, XPS or wadding and drywall will also solve the problem with unwanted noise. And blind trust in the advice of handymen can have serious consequences. This is why we strongly recommend you to consult an acoustic professional during the process of space design or transformation.

Обитатели на жилищни сгради, създатели на видео и подкаст съдържание, професионални музиканти, хора с домашен офис или домашно кино, компании с отворен тип офиси, кол центрове, дата центрове и производствени организации.

Какъв е процесът при изграждането на продукт в DECIBEL?

Водим се от пазара и желанието ни за иновации. Напоследък иновацията е водещата стъпка, а след това сверяваме с пазара дали това, което сме изобретили, внедрили и произвели работи и се приема добре.

Как се възприемат продуктите на DECIBEL от българската и от международната аудитория?

Клиентите в България ни познават и ни се доверяват по-лесно, докато в чужбина все още изграждаме бранда си. Тенденцията е изискванията на българските потребители да стават все по-високи, а европейските да са по-отворени към звукоизолация и акустика, произведени в България.

Кои са най-разпространените заблуди на потребителите по отношение на звукоизолацията и акустиката?

Първата е, че звукоизолацията и акустиката са само за студиа, кина и телевизии. Друга заблуда е продължаващото вярване, че топлоизолацията от стиропор, XPS или вата и гипскартон ще решат и проблема с нежелания шум. Сляпото доверие в съветите на общопрактуващи майстори от своя страна може да има сериозни последствия. Затова винаги съветваме при проектирането и преустройството на пространства да се консултирате с професионален акустик.
